I’m reading ‘Treasure Island’. I’ve never read it before. Charlie was 18 yesterday. His mum wrote: ‘Happy 18th Birthday Charlie Read, you are kind, caring, sensitive as well as bloody argumentative, but you are loved beyond measure by so many people.’

The BBC reported on recent London shootings: ‘Two children were also injured. A 12-year-old girl sustained a leg injury. She was treated at hospital before being discharged yesterday afternoon. She is expected to make a full recovery. A seven-year-old girl was more seriously injured. She remains in hospital in a stable but life-threatening condition, and our thoughts are with her and her family.’

Musing… God describes his people as his ‘treasured possession’… Jesus talks a lot about treasures and says: ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’
…Children, young people… valued, valuable treasures… hidden, to be found… personal, displayed.
