Sunday’s TV programme… Daniel started campaigning for a GCSE in British Sign Language (BSL) when he was 12-years-old.
Daniel’s profoundly deaf. He couldn’t understand why students could study French and Spanish, but not a language used by so many deaf people in the UK. Five years on, Daniel’s doing his A-levels. GCSE BSL starts this September.

Yesterday’s conversation… Four years ago Bill was in hospital with sepsis, in an induced coma.
Blue marker-pen indicated where his leg would be amputated. His life was in the balance… He recovered with no amputation… Our friend Ray’s coming out of hospital following Friday’s heart attack…

Daniel is right-sign language should be an option for students who want to-or are required to-learn another language. My son had to have a foreign language to graduate from the university and he struggled with it. Fortunately, they offered sign language. He took it and loved it. 🙂

We know Daniel’s parents and have known Daniel since he was a baby. Together with his mum he has often been on our local news, and sometimes he;s made it to the national news. His actions have had a significant impact!
