Diversion signs around the town may be frustrating… but it’s good to know that ‘emergency works’ are filling some of the many potholes in our roads. I was amused to read that ‘urgent works will repair the potholes on the roads that measure from 40mm to 100mm’.’
I assume that they mean that the holes not the roads have those dimensions!!

Stunning new aerial images captured by aerial photographer Mike Page show significant progress that’s been made in the construction of the long-awaited Gull Wing bridge…
Talking to gents in their seventies, this bridge was being talked about when they were boys!

The Seagull Theatre have announced ‘Our car park is finished and we couldn’t be happier… also gained spaces due to a big tidy up and clearing space and so we now have 21 spaces!!’
Part of our refurbishment programme – it’s great!

We’re familiar with the picture of life being a journey… Considering small problems we face – potholes to be avoided or filled in… Focusing on huge difficulties in our way – rivers in front of us and the bridges we need to build to cross them.
Eventually we consider our final car park in the sky… how we will get there… whether we have a clearly marked space (with disabled access of course).

I was reminded of this ancient Irish blessing:
May the road rise up to meet you,
may the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
In a world where people constantly fall out, find fault and make enemies… I like the idea of blessing – of wishing others well.
In this blessing I don’t consider the problems of potholes or bridges or some car park that may be needed in the future… I pray for a gentle, peaceful, pleasant journey today… as God blesses with his holding presence.
