I love You, Lord
Oh, your mercy never failed me
All my days, I’ve been held in your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
We sung this at Josh and Becca’s wedding yesterday. We sung a number of worship songs in the church service as they declared their faith in God as well as their love for each other. ‘In the presence of God I make these vows,’ they said – and meant it.
We listened to well known Bible verses: ‘Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast… It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres..’
Mike talked about Snow White and the 7 dwarfs… that love is active through our Grumpy and our Dopey times… ‘in sickness and in health’ (Sneezy and Happy)…
Musing… Josh and Becca’s love for each other… God’s love for them whatever their future holds… the goodness of God…

I love your voice
You have led me through the fire
And in darkest night you are close like no other
I’ve known you as a Father
I’ve known you as a Friend
And I have lived in the goodness of God,
We went to the evening do. There were lots of young people energetically, enthusiastically dancing. I felt my age.
It took me back to our wedding… the following 50 years… times when we’ve been through the fire… through darkest nights… so grateful that we’ve known God as Father and Friend… we’ve known the goodness of God.
Musing… My prayer… that our experience will be Josh and Becca’s experience… that in knowing God as their Father and Friend they will know the faithfulness and goodness of their God.
And all my life you have been faithful,
And all my life you have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God,
