Calli the German Shepherd stands on the roof of the local pub ‘The Flying Dutchman’. Frantic passers-by call pub landlord, Chris Moore, who says he gets about a dozen calls a week…
The local paper reports: ‘…while Mr Moore, 46, is appreciative of the concern, he stresses the three-year-old just ‘likes to watch the world go by…‘She’s got access to the upstairs and the roof so she’ll sit there happily watching people go about their lives. We’ve always got an eye on her and she just likes to look at the traffic.’
Calli’s overview.
Yesterday Boris Johnson resigned as Conservative leader. His leadership of his party and the nation comes to its inevitable conclusion. There’s much discussion and speculation about his intention to continue as prime minister, the process of appointing a new party leader, the character and policies required of the new leader, prospective candidates…
Meanwhile, Keir Starmer and the opposition express their opinions on corruption in the current government and the need for a general election…
Meanwhile yesterday…
…work on our new kitchen continued. Kev, the plumber removed a pipe; Chris the plasterer was here for most of the day boarding the ceiling and preparing to plaster today. Later Patrick popped round. We chatted about tough stuff going on his family life at the moment. …Life goes on.
…in the afternoon a small frog hopped out of a shady flower bed, 10 metres across the lawn, into the pond. A family of young blue tits were bathing in the bird bath. The woodpecker family and the jay family had already appeared and young squirrels are regular visitors. …Life goes on.
Musing… Cali’s overview… ‘From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind… he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.’ (Psalm 33:11-13)
…Life goes on… God’s post-flood promise to Noah… ‘As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.’ (Genesis 8:22}

Thoughtful and very readable. Life does indeed go on.

It comforts me greatly to know the Lord is looking down on us…though of course He is also ever Present with me in my 2nd floor apartment (“flat” to others), the “Upper Room”–which is mostly taken up by my “Blessed Table” 🙂
