I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I love living in Lowestoft – the sea that changes through the year, the cliff top, the marshes, the woods, the open fields, the lakes that we call ‘The Broads’… I’m so fortunate; it’s all so beautiful…. ‘What a wonderful world’
These last 5 days in Austria have been something else. High mountains, clear rivers, blue skies, thunder storms, steep paths through vast forests. It touches my usual emotionless rational self with awe and wonder. It’s a wonderful world.
O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed…
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art…
My faith me beyond the ‘wonderful world’. I see Lowestoft’s sunrise over the sea; I see the Austrian Alps; I see the wonderful world as a beautiful creation; beyond the creation I see the creator God. My awe and wonder has a direction and I start to discover worship…

‘As for man his days are like grass… but from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him….’
I read these words from Psalm 103 this morning. In amongst the wonderful world, the great God, and eternity, is little, time-restricted, limited me. I discover and understand that this everlasting God’s is caring and compassionate. His love is with and for this insignificant me…
Beautiful post. God’s everlasting love is so enriching and comforting. Blessings to you.
