Bigger than all my problems, bigger than all my fears;
God is bigger than any mountain that I can or cannot see.
Bigger than all my questions, bigger than anything;
God is bigger than any mountain that I can or cannot see.
This year’s the centenary of the Royal British Legion. Last night was The Festival of Remembrance from the Royal Albert Hall. Today it’s Remembrance Sunday. We remember those killed and injured in war, innocent people suffering in conflict:
‘At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.’
Today’s song says that God is bigger than the mountain of war.
Bigger than all the shadows that fall across my path,
God is bigger than any mountain that I can or cannot see.
He’s bigger than all the confusion, bigger than anything;
God is bigger than any mountain that I can or cannot see.
Many friends have huge ‘mountains’ in their lives. Physical and mental illness, family problems, employment and financial worries… They were there yesterday, they’re there today; they’re clearly visible and not going away. There’s no way over, under, round or through their mountain.
And yet… God is bigger than today’s personal mountain
Bigger than all the giants of pain and unbelief;
God is bigger than any mountain that I can or cannot see.
Bigger than any hangups, bigger than anything;
My God is bigger than any mountain that I can or cannot see.
Often the biggest mountains are those we can’t see. Fears about tomorrow. The ‘what if’ questions that come when we least expect it, bringing anxiety and insecurity.
As I get older I see folk my age with cancer, dementia, heart conditions… I wonder what will happen to me… how that will affect other members of the family…
And I return to the place of faith, hope and security. I hold on to…
God is bigger than any mountain that I can or cannot see.

This is my type of a good get together and feeling the presence of our Lord in the mist Thankyou once again for just keeping me and reminding me that yes God is bigger than any thing.Have a blessed day my friend
