Yesterday…
…At ‘Singing for Wellbeing’ we sung the old song ‘Mama Don’t Allow’. Covered by many artists, in many styles… Verses list many things that Mama don’t allow, but her children are going to do anyhow.
Mama don’t allow no music playin’ round here
Mama don’t allow no music playin’ round here
Well, we don’t care what Mama don’t allow
Gonna play that music anyhow
Mama don’t allow no music playin’ round here
I wondered what Mama thought of her rebellious, determined children.
…Andy Wall’s story was on TV. In August 2023, watching Norwich City, he had a cardiac arrest. His wife and children were nearby. Help was quickly on hand; he made a full recovery.
Working with British Heart Foundation’s ‘Every Minute Matters’ campaign, he spoke of his mission to get more people to know CPR. A stand at Wembley Stadium is to be named after him…
It was tough for Andy’s wife and children seeing him being resuscitated… The whole family are grateful.

…I started reading ‘The Pulse Beneath’ by Jordan Woodbridge. It’s well-written; I’m enjoying it. The back cover reads:
‘For three centuries the Order has kept the world at peace. Its doctrine is absolute, its authority unquestioned, and its silence carefully maintained.
Kael Riven has built her life inside that silence…’
Jordan was in Rachel’s Sunday School class. We’ve known Jordan’s parents for many years. When we last saw them, they said that Jordan, their ‘baby’, had his first book published. They’re rightly very proud.

Musing… Jesus often talked about His Father-God:
‘Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink… Look at the birds of the air… your heavenly Father feeds them…
Do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” …your heavenly Father knows that you need them…’
‘Don’t worry’ is our response to a loving Father-God. I wonder about his response to us… seeing disobedient, rebellious children… grateful children who’ve experienced tough stuff… creative children that he’s proud of.
