God I Look to You

God I look to You, and I won’t be overwhelmed
Give me vision to see things like You do
God I look to You, and You’re where my help comes from
Give me wisdom, You know just what to do

Living in Lowestoft we love the beach, the sea, the big skies. We’re enjoying a few days away in Derbyshire seeing hills, stone walls, big rocks. In a different place we enjoy seeing different things. Binoculars help us to see more…

I enjoy meeting people, understanding situations; everyone has something to teach me. By faith I look to God. As I seek to see God, I find myself in a different place, seeing different things.

And I will love You Lord my strength
And I will love You Lord my shield
And I will love You Lord my rock
Forever all my days I will love You God

God I look to you… Some folks see their God clearly. I confess my spiritual eyesight is a little hazy at times. I need a wise optometrist at a spiritual Specsavers to aid my vision…

I look to God, seeking to get a clearer picture… I see one who gives me strength and is my strength… my shield and protector, my dependable, unmovable solid rock… my personal helper in my weakness, my wisdom in my foolishness. I respond in gratitude and growing confident faith…

Hallelujah our God reigns
Hallelujah our God reigns
Oh hallelujah our God, you reign
Forever all my days Hallelujah

Usually, I want to be out there doing stuff. My faith and theology are to be lived out practically. ‘God, I look to you’, I pause a little longer, aided by spiritual Specsavers optometrist, focusing my binoculars, gaining a fresh perspective. I start to see things as He sees them.

Last week we attended a Christian funeral. We looked forward to that day when hazy vision will become perfect, when ‘all my days’ takes on a different dimension…
