Last night we watched England’s lionesses beat Germany to become European champions! Chloe Kelly scored the winning goal! She said: ‘This is what dreams are made of…’
Chloe is the youngest of seven siblings. Playing football with her five brothers and their friends in the football cages in Ealing, West London taught her to be tough…
Last year she missed the Olympics because of a serious knee injury. Chloe’s toughness, constant hard work and determination enabled her dreams to come true last night.

Hayley wrote: ‘At 09:19am on the 29th July a little princess entered our world! It is with great pride that Myself, Jason and Caleb would like to introduce you all to our new family member… Ellie Pauline Sarah Foulger. Weighing 6Ib 7oz named after some of the most incredible women we know! It’s not been an easy ride but you are so worth it and already so very, very loved!’
Months of waiting and discomfort are over. Grandparents, family and friends are delighted. Their dream came true last Friday.

This morning I read: ‘Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it… But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want.’’
Standing at the crossroads I see what I think is my dream road… but it’s the wrong road. I need the wisdom and strength to move from my dream road to the right road.
Yesterday in church Mike reminded us of Jesus’ words: ‘You are the light of the world… let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and glorify your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.’ (Matthew 6:14-16) Perhaps in shining our light others can see their dreams…
Musing… making dreams come true…
- …Chloe… I sometimes have to make determined effort
- …Hayley… my dreams may be the dreams of others
- …Jeremiah… recognising my misguided dreams
- …Mike (and Jesus!)… shining my light… helping others see their dreams… pleasing my God!
